Special Interest Groups

The Institute has a number of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) available to members.

These SIGs highlight particular themes and functions within Health & Social Care and meet to network and plan events and reports.

Join any of the SIGs by clicking here.

Our focus is to help IHSCM members to feel they can tell us about their carbon reduction and sustainability initiatives and help implement these initiatives. Our group also aim to help organisations reach Net Zero Emissions, welcoming new members to the group and networking opportunities.

The Social Care Innovators is a group for people keen to bring change and innovation to the social care sector.

We believe that working together with a shared aim we will be able to influence lasting changes to social care.

We have already achieved some great outcomes with the Green Heart For Social Care Initiative, The Care Library, and our People Plan for Social Care.

The group is chaired by Adam Purnell, Director of social care for the Institute of Health and Social Care (IHSCM) and Palvi Dodhia, COO Serene Care and IHSCM member.

The main group meets bi-monthly but we also have 7 subgroups that focus on their own specific areas that meet monthly.

Chairs: Palvi Dodhia (Directer of Serene Care) and Adam Purnell, Director for Social Care, IHSCM.

At the IHSCM we are privileged to have members who between them have many years of experience, knowledge and resources.  Many of these members may now be retired from working within health and social care, but still wish to connect with like-minded people on a regular basis via a Special Interest Group (SIG).

The Retired Members SIG will work together to hold conferences, webinars, workshops, masterclasses and podcasts to impart their expertise not only to their retired colleagues but also to newer members wishing to learn from this vast collection of expertise and knowledge.
