Matt Hancock, Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, has decreed NHS Trusts will phase out the use of pagers for non-emergency communications by the end of 2021, and will replace them with mobile phones and apps.  All hospitals will need to have both plans and the infrastructure in place to make this possible by the end of September 2020.
